The Siege of Typhon

Battle

After an unfortunate incident which resulted in fatal miscommunication with the alien race known as rozital, they believed we wanted war. We spent about a day preparing Typhon’s defences before their planet arrived. I was leading the fleet in the Castellum with Lieutenant Squid holding the line on the ground while Rifleman Pheonix, lieutenant-general TU and commissar Gold would get onto the planet and try diplomacy, and if that failed warp the planet away after confiscating rare minerals. Diplomacy proved unsuccessful at first and so the rozitals sent their fleet, which was held back and defeated by the 2nd’s superior firepower and tactics with the Castellum and Seraph Station weathering the brunt of the attack while they (and the rest of the fleet) ripped the xenos ships apart. As their fleet fell apart, a few rozitals got to the ground although most were intercepted. They surged towards our battlelines as the drops couldnt breach out orbital shield, strangely using non lethal weaponry such as as gas that puts soldiers to sleep almost instantly and tazers that didnt appear to do permanent damage. Due to having aerial superiority we hit most of the Rozitals with artillery before they did too much damage. They reacted by forming up to form constructs about three times larger than an ogre class. Seraph stations’ heat ray proved innefective in the face of their energy shields but our bombers did some damage and the constructs were mostly dealt with when we deployed the Castellum’s railgun. Meanwhile, Pheonix, TU and Gold had entered planet Roz and looked to gain access to its warp systems when they found a rozital that was willing to engage in diplomacy. They explained the situation and both sides called off the fighting, the rozital’s ceasing their (mostly ineffective) assault. We then resumed large scale diplomacy with the aliens involving the transfer of the rare resources on planet Roz and the affairs of denomo. Overall we had no casualties and im glad we could resolve this peacefully. Colonel Kerminator, out
