The mission objective was to terminate the five experimental Vanguard units in enemy hands, their pilots, and the black site they originated from. This black site was under the control of the IMC remnant fleet following a successful assault on the Militia planet of Granius in the Locust sector.
The experimental chassis, now referred to as the Vanguard Experimental models Mk.1, or VX-01 for short, represent a Titan platform with both advanced AI and power systems. The standard powering systems were replaced with amped batteries, creating space for all Titan variant abilities to be active in the VX-01 at all times. The test pilots for the VX-01 were identified as former AHA aces from the first war.
The SWAG pilot squadron infiltrated the area via Titan Fall from the AHF Infiltrator, landing two miles from the test site. Utilizing an experimental spoofed IFF device, the SWAG units appeared as IMC affiliates on enemy radar. Once they were close, all SWAG units engaged using lethal force. Although the five enemy pilots coordinated well, the SWAG operatives managed to keep them separated, preventing the enemy from maintaining combat viability.
During the engagement, it was discovered that the legs of the VX-01 units were a structural weak point, which was exploited violently to defeat the enemy. Pilot [Redacted] was able to [Redacted] using a cloaking module. After eliminating the VX-01 units, the operatives advanced to the black site. They destroyed the site’s spaceport and air defense systems before launching a barrage of Outlaw-class missiles to remove the site. All operatives exfiltrated with minor inconvenience and no casualties, completing the mission successfully.
Addendum: After debriefing the General, it was decided that the five pilots—Tempest, Havoc, Serpent, Crosser, and Bullfrey—would be given memorial graves to commemorate the comrades lost under these unfortunate circumstances.
