Naval Forces
Warships
Fleet
- The largest naval unit, made of a minimum of 3 flotillas with no upper limit on their size. A battalion is able to split their larger fleet into several smaller fleets to allow simultaneous operations on several fronts.
Flotilla - Made of 2 or more battlegroups, these are used when several Battlegroups have the same objective or more firepower is needed in a certain situation.
Battlegroup - Made of 10-40 warships, incorporating several task groups. These larger units are used for direct engagements, blockades and planetary assaults.
Task Group - Smallest Naval Subunit, made of 3-9 warships. Used for smaller responsibilities such as escort and patrol duty.
Small Craft
Wing
- All craft of a certain type operating within a certain AO*. (I.E. all fighters deployed in a planetary assault, 21st Fighter Wing of the 1st Battalion)
Group - 2 or more Squadrons operating in an area with the same objective. (I.E. Ensuring operation of medical units, Medic Group)
Squadron - Made of 3 - 5 Flights, usually 12 craft.
Flight - Smallest naval unit, 2 or more craft operating as a unit.
*In joint operations this is specific to the fleet that they originated, so there can be multiple fighter wings in an AO if they come from different fleets. I.E 21st Fighter Wing of the 1st Battalion and 86nd Fighter Wing of the 2nd Battalion.
