Rules of Engagement

This section details the legal protocols for commencing and continueing engagements as well as the equipment permitted in these engagements.

A.H.A forces may only engage hostiles combatants, to be designated a hostile combatant an individual must be armed, belong to an actively hostile faction and or pose an imminent threat to friendlies and or non-combatants.

Civilians are not to be targeted or fired upon, medical staff and vehicles are not to be fired on or targeted if unarmed, however if armed medical personnel forfeit these rights and may be fired upon.

A.H.A forces may move freely through friendly territory, however officers attempting to move forces greater than a recon element outside of our territory must request permission from their CO as troop movements may provoke other factions within proximity to the movements.

The use of indiscriminate weapons such as gas and other forms of chemical warfare are strictly prohibited. Despite this, incendiary weapons are permitted for use on military targets but prohibited in urban areas where they pose large scale risk to civilian life.

When operating in inhabited urban areas, A.H.A foot soldiers are restricted to small scale ordinances such as hand grenades, satchel charges, etc. Titan support is required to attempt to minimize collateral damage including but not limited to civilian casualties and infrastructure destruction. However, if the situation arises a member of high command may authorise use of heavier ordinances. Members doing this will be held in front of a tribunal afterwards to determine if the use of heavier ordinances was warranted and to evaluate if the collateral damage was accepted.

Individuals found authorizing unnecessary use of heavy ordinance may be stripped of their command amongst other punishments.

The use of nuclear weapons is only permitted as a last resort and their use must be authorized by a member of high command.
